The
kindergarden classes at Devotion School took one day to go to Castle Island
in Boston Harbor, where an old fort still stands guarding Boston from imagined
foes. The kids had a good time checking out the shoreline for snails and other
sea creatures and exploring the sides of the fort.
Lunch came to the relief of all and furthermore, there was a surprise snack - ice cream in a cup with the old wooden spoons. I (Andy) can still remember eating those ice cream cups. Here Kira and her friend Siena Fried enjoy one of those yummy cups!
However, the day proved to be too long and hot to obey the rule of staying out of the water. What do six year olds do when they break the rules? They taunt you for all it's worth, but they're also too cute to do anything about it.... Look and see how careful they tried to keep their shorts dry. Well, that didn't last long ....
Here's the class at a brief moment of inactivity...
Finally, thanks must go to Melissa Tonachel for making Kira's kindergarden experience such a joy. You are a wonderful teacher!
