During "Project Engineering" (ESD.052) — a three-day immersion in the skills necessary to deliver products on time, on budget and to specifications — 22 Gordon Engineering Leaders (GELs) learned how to use what they learned outside the classroom.

Working over two days at Camp Cody, N.H., in single-digit average temperatures, the GELs unplanned team-building activity — constructing a quinzee shelter — reinforced the notion that sometimes, having strong engineering leadership skills can mean the difference between life and death.
