School Buildings - The State of Affairs: A new architecture for a new education

Opening: June 24/ Reception 6:30 p.m.
Today's new school architecture reflects a changing approach towards education which positions teaching facilities at the center of community life. Effective school buildings are now designed for multiple public functions as community centers, as well as for centers of learning and personal development. The exhibition examines this contemporary design process through 31 school projects in Switzerland, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and Austria. |

When D-lab students showed some of their work here at the Museum last fall the audience was wowed – come back and take a look at the end of year presentations showing innovations that will help people in developing countries better navigate rural terrain, improve food supply and aid recuperation from amputations. |
