Travel Instructions
Public Transportation
Take any bus or trolley that connects to any MBTA Rapid Transit subway
station (NOTE: There are MBTA subway stations adjacent to Back Bay,
South Station and North Station railroad terminals and Logan Airport).
Follow the Rapid Transit System maps posted in each station to the
Forest Hills-Oak Grove / Medford Orange line. Take an Orange Line
train to Community College Station. The front doors of BHCC are 100
steps from the station exit.
Driving
From the West
Via I-95 (Rte. 128) North or South:
Follow I-95 / 128 to Exit 37 South ("Rte. I-93 South - Boston").
Follow I-93 South to Exit 28. Take exit and follow ramp directions
for "Sullivan Square - Charlestown." Take next ramp marked "Boston."
Hood Milk is on the right coming off the ramp. Pass one street on
right. Entrance to BHCC is in the middle of the next block.
Via Rte. 2 & Memorial Drive:
Follow Rte. 2 East to signs for Cambridge and Memorial Drive. Follow
Mem. Drive East along the Charles River past Harvard.
A. Take underpass marked "Memorial Drive East." Continue past
MIT and follow road along water's edge marked "Expressway N & S,
Charlestown." Continue on this road through underpass to: "Cambridge
Parkway," beyond the Royal Sonesta Hotel and straight across major
intersection (traffic lights) onto the Gilmore (Prison Point) Bridge.
At the end of the bridge, turn right at the lights, take the first
right leading to the BHCC student parking lot, bear right at the fork
and continue around the BHCC perimeter to the college entrance.
Via I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike):
Follow I-90 East to Exit 18 ("Allston-Cambridge"). After toll plaza,
follow ramp directions to Cambridge. At traffic light, go straight
across intersection and over bridge. At next traffic light (end of
bridge), turn right onto Memorial Drive. Follow A above.
From the South
Via Rte. 3 N & Southeast Expressway (I-93 N):
Follow Expressway through South Station area and onto Central Artery.
Pass exits for Haymarket Square, Logan Airport. Take the North
Station Exit, marked Exit 25. Take a right at the end of the exit
ramp, and make the first left at the stoplight onto the bridge.
Travel straight across the bridge on to Rutherford Avenue. When
the road forks, stay to the right towards the first stoplight. The
college will be visible to your left.
Go straight through the intersection, and bear to the right after
the second set of lights at the EXIT sign for Charlestown/Cambridge.
Before the next set of lights turn left and reverse direction at the
U-Turn. The BHCC student parking lot is on the right. Take the
first right into the parking lot and a right at the fork and continue
on that road around the BHCC perimeter to the college entrance.
From the Northeast
Via Tobin (Mystic River) Bridge:
Take exit marked "Charlestown." At the end of exit ramp, go straight
through the traffic light. At the second traffic light, take right
onto Rutherford Avenue. Stay to the right. The college will be
visible on our left. Go straight through the intersection, and bear
to the right after the second set of lights at the EXIT sign for
Charlestown/Cambridge. Before the next set of lights turn left and
reverse direction at the U-Turn. The BHCC student parking lot is on
the right. Take the first right into the parking lot and a right at
the fork and continue on that road around the BHCC perimeter to the
college entrance.
