Tooling. It's what some people at MIT call working. Unfortunately, MIT lives up to its reputation when it comes to workload, so you will find that tooling takes up a significant portion of your time. The brothers of Theta Chi are thoroughly committed to academics. Our fraternity motto is "Alma Mater First and Theta Chi for Alma Mater," and it perfectly describes the prevailing sentiment in the house: we are all here to get an education. Theta Chi consistenly has one of the highest average GPAs on campus. There is a great variety of majors represented at Theta Chi; math, physics, biology and computer science are just a few.

Of course, should you need help with any of your classes, brothers are more than willing to assist. In fact, the house elects a Scholarship Chair who constantly monitors the progress of every brother, especially freshmen, and provides tutoring when necessary. The Scholarship Chair also edits resumés and keeps the house aware of career fairs and academic deadlines.
