Infinesse Corporation was founded in 1991 by Michael E. Kim (Ph.D. MIT EECS 1978) to apply advanced communication system and semiconductor technologies to product applications. In 2000 the RF semiconductor design operation of Infinesse was acquired by Microsemi Corporation (NASDAQ MSCC), and since then Infinesse has been focusing on communication system and biomedical technology and applications. It is currently in the process of releasing a family of wire/wireless multimedia communication systems for business applications and developing a novel human prosthetic spinal disc implant. Infinesse continues to explore other technology-based business opportunities as a technology and product incubator. In such spirit, Infinesse is pleased to support MIT-related activities. The SEVT program follows the on-going Infinesse sponsorship of the Los Angeles area high-school teachers summer technology program at MIT (through the MIT Club of Southern California). In particular, the solar electric vehicle program at MIT is not just a competitive outlet, but the fusing of aspiring engineers with technology and the spirit of entrepreneurship that will benefit the team and the world community in the process.
