Publishing Authority

In the code of Student Rights and Responsibilities, the University guarantees the right to a student free press.

The document is currently the source of much controversy and is being revised. In case it goes away (the link has moved before), here is section 3C of the document:

C. The University is committed to protecting students' rights to a free press

The University will not restrict the editorial freedom of student publications and the student press.

In the unlikely event that a busybody administrator manages to remove these pages or the more likely event that I graduate, the archive will reside permanently at the MIT SAFE Archive.
