I lost more data during a one-evening test run of _CyberSitter_ than I EVER lost to a virus! I found out this morning that during the trial it had retroactively censored the outbox for my newsreader: the discussion of abortion in romance ... gone many of my posts to technical groups ... gone perhaps because of a subject _CyberSitter_ found offensive, or a cross-post to a group it didn't like. Many of my posts to news.admin.net-abuse report those sleazy ads for XXX sites, so they might have had alt.sex in the list, or to another group _CyberSitter_ thinks is "bad". Other posts to alt.folklore.herbs involve the use of herbs for abortion (always saying - don't do it!) And it screwed up the dates on every post in the outbox!!! If you decide to test one of these CyberCensor programs, make sure you make a copy of anything that anyone might consider "bad" before you do. There is absolutely nothing to prevent them, when active, from scanning text files, programs, etc. and deleting what their programmers don't like. You might notice some extra disk activity, but a clever programmer could make it inapparent. _Callie_ Callie@writepage.com | http://www.writepage.com (the real place to e-mail)| Genre Fiction Publicity
