Lecture on water issues in Lebanon by Prof. Fisher

The lecture topic came up following the issues that arose recently when Lebanon decided to pump water from the Wazzani Springs in Lebanon. The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon threatened then to destroy the Wazzani installations if his government felt the use of the resources was depleting its share of the Hasbani River.

Therefore, we have decided to invite MIT Prof. Franklin Fisher to tell us about the economics of water resources conflicts and the problems and possible solutions revolving around the sharing of water between neighboring countries. The lecture was around 45 minutes and was followed by a Q&A session.
