  Staff

Hillel's staff works with the campus Jewish community, offering a variety of services such as counseling, program development, teaching, and student leadership development. They provide a link from the Jewish community to the MIT administration, faculty, staff, and other campus religious groups. They work with everyone from prospective students to alumni/ae.

The Hillel staff offices are located in the lower level of the Religious Activities Center, MIT Building W11. All staff can be reached by calling 617-253-2982.

Miriam Rosenblum, Director - Retired
Miriam served as both the Director of MIT Hillel and Jewish Chaplain at MIT. Affiliated with MIT Hillel since 1981, she worked with all components of the MIT Jewish and larger communities and helped shape the vision for Hillel at MIT that continues to grow into the future. Miriam also served as the Chair of the MIT Board of Chaplains.

Rabbi Sam Seicol - Interim Director
Rabbi Sam continues to serve as a Rabbinic Advisor in addition to assuming the interim duties of Director of MIT Hillel and Jewish Chaplain at MIT.

Eliad Shmuel, Program Director
Eliad is a resource for creating Jewish communities and programs on the MIT campus. He works with students, recent alumni, faculty, and staff to facilitate a dynamic campus community. In particular he helps students express their dreams through programming, community building and leadership development. Eliad is a graduate of the University of Haifa.

Rabbinic Advisors
Hillel's two rabbinic advisors are both counselors and teachers. They are available to all students and other members of the Hillel community to discuss all manners of Jewish concerns, whether they are related to questions of Jewish practice or theology, history, etc.

Rabbi Sam Seicol provides religious and spiritual support and education as a Rabbinic Advisor to MIT Hillel. As a certified Chaplain he is available to all Jewish members of the MIT community, as well as all who are interested in Jewish history, customs, and ceremony studies.

Rabbi Gershon Segal serves as a Jewish resource for the MIT community and is the adviser to the MIT Orthodox Minyan and the MIT Kosher kitchens. A resident of Massacutests since 1988, he also serves as the spiritual leader of congregation Beth El Atereth Israel in Newton center.

Danny Watt, Director of Development
Danny oversees all aspects of fundraising, from the annual campaign, to the ongoing, major gifts campaign. He helps members of the larger MIT community fulfill their sense of commitment to MIT and its Hillel. Call to talk through the possibilities!

H. Jacob Greene, Administrative/Development Associate, oversees Hillel finances, operations, and office functioning. He also partners with Danny Watt on Hillel's fundraising efforts. Jacob is a great resource for information about current activities at Hillel, reimbursements, and budget questions. Prior to joining Hillel he worked in the for-profit world after graduation from Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminar

Ora Gladstone, Addir Fellows Interfaith Dialogue Program Coordinator
The Addir Fellows Program brings together students of different faiths to engage and understand each other in a stimulating environment. Addir is a word in Ancient Sumerian, which means 'bridge'. In the Addir Fellows Program we aspire to build bridges of dialogue and understanding. The Addir Fellows is sponsored by MIT Hillel and the Office of the Dean for Student Life in cooperation with the MIT Board of Chaplains.
