  Jewish Alumni/ae

Jewish alumni and alumae are an integral part of the MIT Hillel community. Alumni/ae have opportunities to attend special Hillel alumni/ae programs and student programs, participate in the Annual Hillel Campaign and serve on the Hillel Board of Directors.

Annual Campaign
MIT Hillel depends on the generosity of Jewish alumni/ae for the majority of its annual funding. Alumni/ae have the opportunity to donate directly to MIT Hillel or through a donation, designated to MIT Hillel, to the MIT Alumni/ae Fund. For information contact the Hillel Administrator.

Opportunities exist for alumni/ae to sponsor specific Hillel programs. Also, it is possible for aluumni/ae to remember Hillel in their wills. For information contact Hillel Director Miriam Rosenblum.

Special Funds
Consider major gift support to one of MIT Hillel's special funds -- Shabbat Experience, Festival Fund (pdf) , Israel Initiative, Kosher Dining.

Alumni/ae Programs at MIT
Hillel hosts an annual Reception for Jewish Alumni/ae every June in conjunction with MIT's Technology Week. It is generally held on Thursday afternoon, prior to the Boston Pops event. If you will be attending the upcoming Tech Week reunion activities, contact Hillel at: hillel@mit.edu.

Alumni/ae Connections in the United States
The MIT Hillel Board of Directors has instituted an outreach effort to Jewish alumni/ae living in other parts of North America.

Northern New Jersey alumni/ae gathered at the home of Richard Feldman '84, a former Hillel student president. The event was co-hosted by Feldman's wife Annette Avner Feldman who served as the chef/manager of the MIT kosher kitchen in the 1980's. Jay Fridkis '84 and Irene Griff '87 hosted a reception at their home for alumni/ae living in the Greater Washington D.C. area.

Any alumni/ae interested in hosting a reception in their city should contact Hillel Director Miriam Rosenblum, miriamr@mit.edu.

Alumni Connections in Israel
More than three hundred MIT alumni/ae live in Israel. The MIT Club of Israel serves as an MIT liaison to this population. Haim Alcalay '61 (alcalayh@alum.mit.edu) is the club's president. A summer reunion of MIT alumni/ae is held each year under the coordination of Heidi Brun '85 hmb@alum.mit.edu and David Goldfarb '84 deg@alum.mit.edu.

The MIT Enterprise Forum of Israel, Inc. is one of 24 chapters worldwide of the MIT Enterprise Forum®, Inc. which promotes the formation and growth of innovative and technologically-oriented companies through a series of specialized executive education programs. For information contact Eytan Sheshinski '66 (isrforum@mit.edu).
