Philanthropy

National Philanthropies

Alpha Epsilon Phi has two national philanthropies for which we raise funds each semester: the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and Sharsheret. Each year we hold two events, Spaghetti Dinner in the fall and Phi Cup in the spring, to raise funds for these organizations.

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

Elizabeth Glaser, an AEPhi at the University of Wisconsin, Sigma Chapter started the foundation to educate people on the special issues concerning children with the AIDS virus, and the prevention of pediatic HIV infection.

Sharsheret

Sharsheret is a new national philanthropy that AEPhi National is supporting. Hebrew for linked chain, the organization connects young Jewish women facing breast cancer, by providing them with a support network, information, help, and counseling.

Phi Cup 2007

Thanks to everyone who made Phi Cup 2007 a great success.

Spaghetti Dinner

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Fifth Annual Spaghetti Dinner a success! Look forward to the Sixth Annual Spaghetti Dinner next fall.

Phi Cup 2006

Let's hear it for the 2006 Phi Cup Champions:

In the checking bracket, the BSD's emerged victorious after having only played ... one game? Next year tell you friends so there's a little more competition!!

In the non-checking bracket, the Dry Icers, a team apparently composed of guys that are friends of ChemE grad students, fought their way to the top over some pretty tough competition, beating out Baker in the final round. Last year's champion, Aero-Astro, lost out to Baker in the Semi-finals, but is rumoured to be already training hard for Phi Cup 2007 in anticipation of taking back the honors for Course XVI.

PS: If you have any feedback flames suggestions gripes or even encouragement regarding Phi Cup 2005, 2006, or 2007, go ahead and email us, er, me.
