Chris Zebo is director and co-founder of MIT Salsa Club.
Chris came to Boston 5 years ago to pursue a Master of Arts in English from Boston College. He was first introduced to Caribbean rhythms as a child living part-time in the Turks and Caicos Islands ( 1 2). However, he wasn't introduced to salsa music until many years later. Not long after hearing it, Chris was learning the basic steps with Boston salsa instructors Johnny Giraldo and Kelly Silfies. He later refined his style by studying social dancers and by practicing with dance partners regularly.
Chris teaches and directs lessons and events on and off campus. He also performs, gives salsa history lectures and coordinates events for various non-profit/community organizations throughout the city.
